"This website provides a collaborative approach to present flood risk information from multiple agencies in a comprehensive format. This website is split into two series of pages one for general readiness and one for emergency response. The navigation bar at the bottom of the page can be used to assist in navigating through these pages."

Flood Risk and Floodplain Management

Flood Risk and Floodplain Management are complex challenges. The goal of the Nebraska Silver Jackets Program is to enhance intergovernmental partnerships resulting in comprehensive and sustainable solutions to Nebraska state flood risks.

Authorities and programs to address flood risk and floodplain management are housed within a number of federal and state agencies; no single federal or state agency has all the answers. Accordingly, public communication on flood risk and floodplain management is dispersed throughout multiple agencies.

This website provides a collaborative approach amongst agencies to present information from multiple agencies in a more comprehensive format. Two series of pages have been developed:

  • Flood Risk – These pages are intended to be used for evaluating and preparing for personal flooding risks

  • Flood Response – These pages are intended to be used to understand and respond to an ongoing eminent threat of flooding
